There is certainly documentary evidence here somewhere (it seems this went on for over an hour) that would greatly clarify what actually happened... photos of destruction, weapons, the flag in question etc. but nothing is ever offered. So we end up getting these narratives with only a tenuous hold on the facts. I suppose the actual government reaction will be manifest in any policy changes or 'strike hard' campaigns in hotan, and probably throughout altishaar as well in the coming weeks.
