The rioters even killed the kids(see picture 1).

Posted 07 Jul 2009 at 9:33 am ¶Just my personal opinion: the first photo might not be related to this incident. It looks more like a car accident. Notice the man on the left with an orange jacket holding a dustpan. He is a typical street cleaner. I don’t think he would be holding his dustpan during or near the site of a riot, nor is he likely to be allowed to go near the scene of a riot with his dustpan, especially when there are cops (two on at the top) around. Also, those cops are in the typical traffic police uniforms. They don’t look like riot police at all. People in this photo look more like casual bystanders of a car accident. These elements just don’t fit in a riot.

Hence the white gloved traffic cops. You can see what looks like parts of a motor scooter in the road: the small rear trunk and the front fender. The 3 were likely thrown off the bike when it collided with the car in the picture. Also, the sanitation worker in orange is wearing the type of hat seen in south China, not in Xinjiang. Lastly, Taxis in Urumqi are not blue.
Posted 07 Jul 2009 at 11:34 am ¶Despite the fact that a vast majority of the victims were Han Chinese and most of the properties were being burnt and destroyed by the Uyghur hooligans, yet most of the reports in the West still report in a manner as if the Chinese police who rushed in to maintain order were the culprits who were responsible for the deaths and destruction. I still fail to comprehend why the Westerners are so quick to condemn the Chinese authority whenever there is a riot by citing that it is due to the lack of religious freedom which is total rubbish. The lack of cultural freedom is also freely used to justify the brutal killings and destruction by the Uyghurs. Anyone who has been to Xinjiang will notice the numerous mosques in the autonomous province and the use of the Uyghurs language is conspicuously evident everywhere. And Ralphie do not distract attention by creating some silly doubts
Posted 07 Jul 2009 at 1:05 pm ¶Facts? What facts? With a media lockdown there are few if any verifiable facts.
Posted 07 Jul 2009 at 1:19 pm ¶I’m pretty sure the first photo here is from Shaoguan, not from Ürümchi. This I believe is one of the photos that appears to prove that the toll of Uyghurs killed in Shaoguan was higher than reported.
Posted 07 Jul 2009 at 1:37 pm ¶Looking at a photo without even trying to verify its authenticity is, using your own words, jumping to a “quick” conclusion, which you just condemned.
Posted 07 Jul 2009 at 1:47 pm ¶You can call me silly, but if you show me a photo of Nazi camps saying that’s Nanjing massacre, sorry, I have to doubt. It would be silly not to doubt. Just because there is large scale violence doesn’t mean we can lose our head and quickly be misled by doubtful evidence, be it intentionally or innocently introduced.
Ralphie what are u talking about, don’t tell me u don’t see the green riot police on the right part of the pic? Who are u trying to fool?
Posted 07 Jul 2009 at 6:05 pm ¶We were talking about a photo that has been deleted. Therefore you can’t see it now. Is this clear enough for you?
Posted 07 Jul 2009 at 10:53 pm ¶Turns out Ralphie and x-urumchilik were right about the original photo. Here we have it on the authority of anti-CNN no less (!) – it was a photo of a car accident in Hangzhou.

Atan liar, I suppose anti-CNN are just creating silly doubts?
