I was also an eyewitness together with my wife and 4 friends, staying in the same hotel; I’ve talked with AFP reporter next morning and have been quoted widely in the news after this event. I have two photos made of the scene. Although the whole event was very confusing – terrorists have been running around in police uniforms at high speed, cutting policemen using matchets – official reports have been fairly accurate, with 16 people dead and several critically wounded.

First and third photo shows a cap on the floor that has a distinctive female style to it.
I think some of the Police Officers were women.

Well, the news that there is photographic evidence wasn't three weeks old, and the existence of photos was a newsworthy story in and of itself due to the controversy over the government not releasing any evidence of the attack (now there is evidence, albeit not released by the government). And point in case: it did become its own story, on the New York Times no less.

No, look at the corpse on the right in the first photo, there’s a blood trail from his former face. It looks like he slid or was dragged by the truck.
