Based on the Chinese language report above, it appeared that the Uyghurs were *sentenced* to be *immediately* executed. That's how things are usually done in the Chinese legal system for cases like these, although I did mention that there is a recent law that the PRC drafted to sate Human Rights folks requiring mandatory reviews for executions.

Also note in the included translation above that two alleged suspects who were found guilty of lesser crimes were sentenced to "deferred executions," meaning they would be executed after a period of time, the sentence of deferred execution, or being executed two years after the sentencing, stands in contrast to the sentence of "execution" which strongly implies a summary, immediate execution, or at the very least an execution within a period of time considerably shorter than two years.

But yeah, the whole point of the post is that I'm not exactly sure what happened.

Were those two Uyghurs in fact EXECUTED or just SENTENCED TO DEATH in November, 2007? Did you consider the possibility that the sentence was in November, 2007 but the executions were carried out July this year? Seems like RFA has corrected their report based on your findings.

And of course, the "bigger news companies" (the Chinese angry youth would rather call them Western propaganda machines) are happy to feed on whatever crap the RFA produces - though with a little bit of hesitation, as even they know how unconfined by the truth RFA can be at times.

Here is a third possibility, which is the most straight forward one in my opinion: Radio Free Asia has, in their usual fashion, screwed up and mixed reliable and unreliable information together with guesses and pure fiction in their habitually sloppy and negligent "reporting".
